Be the change. Do transition.

Let's start where we can make a difference:
Our life, our community, our choices.

FOU DE FOUGERETTE,
ASSOCIATION LOI 1901

In a moment of glorious folly, we bought Château de Fougerette, a neo-gothic castle with 55 rooms and 20 hectares of land.

That was 2013… and guess what? We’re still a bit crazy – first and
foremost about changing the system and accelerating positive climate action.

Our usually endearingly wacky (and sometimes exasperatingly so) castle
provides the perfect backdrop for the many plans & projects we’ve been hatching – and carrying out – ever since we took up residence.

PERMACULTURE
& CLIMATE FARMING

Our permaculture project Which?Garden was launched in early 2018 and currently occupies 1ha of the castle grounds.

We are growing happy veggies and berries, and are experimenting with
regenerative and climate-positive farming methods. We have also planted some 130 fruit trees.

Our motivation?
Showing what is possible and inspire others to rethink the way they work
their land.

WHY
TRANSITION?

Transition is something of a magic wand: The movement unites people from all walks of life and is about communities stepping up to address the big challenges they face by starting local.

By coming together, they are able to crowd-source solutions. They seek
to nurture a caring culture, one focused on supporting each other, both
as groups or as wider communities.

With #TransitionCastle we want to be
part of those who are reclaiming the economy, sparking entrepreneurship,
reimagining work, reskilling themselves and weaving webs of connection
and support!
